About the Album

Sonya Prema began writing Tiger Tears back in 2019 while living in Canada, in a situation that made it hard to create. The album only came into its own once she moved to New York — a city she says "gave me permission to explore parts of myself that I previously had shut down." Eleven tracks trace the balance she keeps coming back to: gentleness and strength, forgiveness and perseverance. She calls it a love letter, both to herself and to whoever's listening — a reminder that everyone is deserving of the dreams they want, if they're willing to put in the work to get there.
